Lumina is more than a fashion show — it's a movement. A high-fashion runway experience celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+ creativity, diversity, and culture in London, Ontario. This is not activism on a stage — it is artistry on a runway.
Inspired by the spirit of previous London queer fashion shows—where a dozen designers and more than 100 models spanning every gender, body type, ethnicity and ability created editorial-quality celebrations of self-expression—Lumina stands as its own event. Elevated. Cinematic. Unapologetic.
Produced by Queer Hive Magazine, Lumina brings London, Ontario a fashion experience comparable to the world's most prestigious runways — but built by and for our community. We bring together designers, performers, creatives, and our community to inspire, elevate, and create change.

Lumina celebrates beauty in all its forms. Our casting is radically inclusive—we are seeking models of every gender, body type, ethnicity and ability to bring our designers' visions to life on the runway.
Requirements

No professional modelling experience required
Must be 16 years or older (minors with guardian consent)
Comfortable walking a runway in front of a live audience
Available for fittings and rehearsal dates

As a go-go dancer and drag artist performing as Kana Kendrick, he brings confidence, movement, and versatility to every runway. Dust Cwaine is a multidisciplinary drag artist based in Vancouver. Their fresh take on drag shows in Vancouver birthed a whole new generation of drag nearly a decade ago. As a host they have the deft skill to make you feel like you're the only person in a crowded room.
They are also a musician who has released 2 studio albums. Their band has played Rifflandia, Khataslano and has been featured on The Jann Arden Podcast.
With their first decade behind them, they feel they are only just getting started.

Born and raised on the beautiful island of Barbados, Ms. Jada Shada Hudson was a star from the beginning. At a young age she began performing in professional theater, and kept matriculating her talents at the national level with Barbados' leading dance troupe. Upon immigrating to Canada she delved deep into the drag scene and has come out on top! The past 14+ years, Jada has dominated not only Toronto's drag scene, but queer celebrations all over the country. She has gained notoriety for being bubbly and gracious which garnered the attention of top brands in campaigns for Spotify, Fireball, Bud Light, BMO, Dresden Vision, Prep Clinic, Ozery Bakery, PepsiCo and many more. She's also been on billboards in Dundas Square representing brands like Global Pet Foods. "Toronto's Turn Up Queen" is still revving up. Along with being a panelist & correspondent on the hit show '1 Queen, 5 Queers' on Crave TV, Ms. Jada Shada Hudson was a contestant on the third season of Canada's Drag Race and placed 2nd, which pushed her to even bigger stardom and is now known as an International Drag Superstar around the world. Now you can find her on a brand new reality TV show "Slaycation" on Crave TV & WOW Presents Plus — and just announced, she's currently on Canada's Drag Race All Stars, airing Thursdays 9pm EST on Crave TV.

Mary Snow is a captivating and seasoned performer whose dance journey spans over two decades. Known for her magnetic stage presence, versatility, and polished professionalism, Mary brings heart and soul to every performance, whether solo or with the award-winning Invoketress Dance troupe based in Guelph, Ontario, where she serves as Managing Director, senior dancer, and choreographer. Since 2003, Mary has trained extensively with renowned instructors across many dance disciplines, always grounding her practice in classical Belly Dance. Her diverse training empowers her to perform an array of styles from traditional to fusion, character work and improvisational freestyle.

For this performance, I wanted to create something that is unapologetically fun, playful, and full of confidence. With a little country flair, a lot of sparkle, and just the right amount of cheekiness, this act is all about celebrating the joy of being yourself. I hand-rhinestoned my costume and poured my heart into every detail to create a performance that makes people smile, clap along, and feel part of the moment. More than anything, I hope this act reminds everyone that they are worthy of taking up space, embracing who they are, and celebrating themselves exactly as they are.
