Canada's Queer Fashion & Culture Experience. This Agreement is entered into between Lumina 2026 / Queer Hive Magazine, represented by Founder Barry Lawrence, and the participating fashion designer ("Designer").

1. Purpose

This Agreement outlines the terms and conditions for participating as a fashion designer in Lumina 2026, a celebration of queer fashion, creativity, diversity, and culture. The Designer agrees to showcase original fashion designs during the event runway presentation and related promotional activities.

2. Registration Fee

A non-refundable registration fee of $5 CAD is required to confirm participation. Payment of the registration fee secures: designer participation slot, inclusion in official event promotions, opportunity to showcase designs on the Lumina runway, and networking with media, attendees, performers, and industry professionals. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been received.

Please send your $5 registration fee via e-transfer to queerhivemagazine@gmail.com. Include your name and "Lumina 2026" in the message.

3. Designer Responsibilities

  • Present original or properly licensed designs
  • Ensure garments are complete and runway-ready before event day
  • Provide their own garments, accessories, styling materials, and fitting support
  • Arrive on time for setup, fittings, and rehearsal
  • Conduct themselves professionally with models, staff, volunteers, and attendees
  • Follow all venue safety regulations and event policies

The Designer is responsible for all transportation and handling of their collection.

4. Collection Requirements

Designers may present: ready-to-wear collections, couture or avant-garde fashion, gender-inclusive fashion, lingerie, streetwear, formalwear, or costume-inspired collections. Collections must align with the inclusive spirit of Lumina 2026 and must not promote hate, discrimination, or harassment.

5. Model Coordination

Designers may bring their own models, or request models coordinated through event organizers (subject to availability). Final model assignments remain at the discretion of the event organizers.

6. Promotion & Media Release

By participating, the Designer grants Queer Hive Magazine permission to photograph, record, and promote their work for social media, magazine publication, press releases, event marketing, and future promotional materials. The Designer retains ownership of their designs.

7. Sales & Orders

Designers may promote custom orders, commissions, or future sales during the event unless otherwise restricted by venue policy. Queer Hive Magazine does not process sales or assume responsibility for transactions between designers and customers.

8. Liability

The Designer acknowledges that participation is voluntary. Queer Hive Magazine, event volunteers, sponsors, and venue partners are not responsible for lost or stolen items, damaged garments or materials, personal injury, or financial losses. Designers participate at their own risk.

9. Cancellation

If the Designer cancels participation, the registration fee remains non-refundable. Organizers request at least 14 days notice when possible. Event organizers reserve the right to remove participants for misconduct or breach of this agreement.

10. Inclusivity Statement

Lumina 2026 celebrates LGBTQIA2S+ communities and allies. Discrimination, harassment, hate speech, or unsafe behavior toward attendees, models, performers, or staff will result in immediate removal.

11. Agreement Acceptance

By signing below, both parties acknowledge they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Agreement.
